Realizing that document management is one of the core functions of an intra-/extranet, Bring2mind has realized a module that will bring sophisticated document management at a difficult-to-beat price. The aim of document management is to allow people to share and organize electronic files. In the old days we used to have network drives that took care of that. But this way of sharing files was (a) not net-ready (i.e. one couldn’t share a file with a mobile worker in this way), nor was it (b) flawless. The web-based alternatives of today offer a much more sophisticated way of sharing files. Gone are the days when you had to make numerous phone calls to find out where the latest version of a particular file was. Gone are the days of accidentally overwriting a file. Gone are the days when you were unaware that someone else had edited your document. Gone are the days that when you left for a trip, you had to organize the files first (Did I leave the latest version on the server? Did I put the latest version on my laptop?). Now you log in, wherever you are and access what you need, you get notified of any changes, and older versions of files are preserved so that you can roll back to older versions.

Since its launch in July 2004, the Document Exchange (DMX) module for DotNetNuke (DNN) has been an outright success. As sales picked up, so did feedback. Although DMX filled an immediate need, users made it clear that it could benefit from a number of enhancements. This new version of DMX is the direct result of that feedback from our customers.
