Medical Solutions - A Balance and Fall Prevention Company

Medical Solutions is Wisconsin’s only Mobile VNG testing company. Headquartered near Madison, Medical Solutions is dedicated to providing state of the art On Site VNG testing.

Medical Solutions is a new company that formed in October, 2005. Despite the fact that Medical Solutions is a new company, it has collectively over 30 years of medical and IT solutions background. Over this period of time the owners and management of the company have successfully applied business skills as operators of previous mobile medical companies.

This experience in the unique field of mobile medical exams and revolutionary computer integration has been critical in the formation and direction of Medical Solutions. The ability to provide valuable testing opportunities to all people in their own communities has been the driving force behind the development and progression of the company.

To this end Medical Solutions has conceived and constructed a completely self-sufficient, mobile VNG/ENG testing lab. This distinctive feature can virtually eliminate the need for patients to travel great distance to a larger facility that typically provides this service. This shared concept will enable your facilities to offer VNG/ENG testing to patients in your own hospitals and clinics and will eliminate any capital investment while increasing your revenues.

To date the health community has some very depressing statistics that prompted us to explore the “up and coming” field of Vestibular Testing:

  1. According to the National Institute of Health, 90 million Americans will see their doctor because of dizziness.
  2. Falls are the leading cause of accidental death in the United States.
  3. The American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons estimates that 30-40% of all falls are preventable.
  4. 75% of reported falls occur in the older population.
  5. 1/3 of the older adults who fall and sustain a hip fracture will die within 1 year!
  6. A fall affects the quality of life of the injured person, but also significantly impacts the caregiver and family.
  7. The health care costs for falls and subsequent rehabilitation averages $ 70 BILLION DOLLARS per year!
  8. Fear leads to inactivity and loss of confidence.
  9. The cycle of fear, loss of confidence and inactivity decreases quality of life and increases the risks of falls. This is truly a vicious cycle that must be stopped!

A change in the vestibular system can be attributed to dizziness experienced in many patients. The results from the ENG/VNG testing will rule out more serious conditions and allow doctors to arrive at an initial diagnosis quicker. Based on the findings of the vestibular test some patients may be referred for additional testing such as CT or MRI. Some patients may require therapy such as canolith repositioning. Canolith repositioning an also be performed at local hospitals or clinics.

Our company will work closely with your staff in establishing the needs of each facility and evaluate the potential patients that could benefit from this test based on ICD-9 codes associated with the CPT codes billable to Medicare, Medical Assistance and private insurances.

Our Marketing Department will assist in promoting your facilities as the test site for a particular location and will also offer Free Fall Prevention Seminars at Senior Citizen Centers throughout each state. In those seminars we provide information about home safety, patient self testing, dietary guidelines, foot and footwear topics as well as information about vestibular testing.

Medical Solutions is responsible for the staffing and training of the technicians, data collection and transmission of test data to a qualified Audiologist or Neurologist for interpretation. The advantages to the hospitals and clinics are:

  1. Elimination of capital investment and the risks associated with it.
  2. No increase in staffing and employee benefits.
  3. Comfort and convenience to the patients.
  4. Expanding available service within the community.
  5. Increasing the participating facility’s revenues. The increased revenue would come from a portion of the technical component of the test as well as the entire portion of the professional component.
